Geometry

I play this game of numbers,
Its an equilibrium of chance…
In this world full of change,
They never seem to break their trance…

I throw a two at a couple,
And draw a three
when I see a crowd…
but why is it?
That loneliness
Always ends its count at one…

I try and balance
Life in between their spaces,
And I try to hear
What they seldom say loud…
My mind goes blank
And for the void it brings,
A zero is all I have…

I played this game of numbers,
An equilibrium of chance…
In this world of constant change,
I have learnt
To hold on, to my trance…

-Eon Heath

p.s.- This particular post is inspired by two people, or rather, their creation. The first one being Sting's "Shape of My Heart" and the second is, well a fellow blogger...
Vaisakhi, your this particular post, "Rolling dice" was simply the best!! and yes, it inspired me to write this one... :)

  2. Hmmm.. Nice, very unlike your other posts. It took a while for me to understand. And of course, the one who inspired you loved her post too..

Well, I was looking for a hint of what u usually write and I could find it at two places in the poem :)

    That loneliness
Always ends its count at one…

    and

And for the void it brings,
    A zero is all I have…

    and

    I have learnt
To hold on, to my trance…

Liked this one for it was different :)

  4. the song is one of my favs too...and both d poems (urs and vaisakhi's ) r powerfully realistic yet something we often dont ponder much on.
but then i have always believe in d saying that 'wining and loosing are balanced equations of life, u got to loose something in order to gain something' ..and it works! :D

  6. Numbers, they have the power to hypnotize. I really don't know why am saying this, but after all Life is sometimes called a game of numbers too.

Three may be a crowd, and loneliness does ends at one, but that one never remains alone, coz at certain point in this game someone would add one to it,that will result in two,a couple...

Even if you have that zero, it seems you are still good in the game by seeing the last lines...and as the song says "He deals the cards to find the answer
    The sacred geometry of chance
The hidden law of a probable outcome"

This is definitely the best one from you, and am sure there would be many more to come :D

P.S.actually Geometry word dekh kar,I snapped out of my trace...isiliye comment late ho gaya...made me think a lot ;)

  9. The author is always manipulative and doesn't really have to think 'outta the box'. Enough said!
